ABBA is the Swedish pop musical group that formed in the early 1970’s. Since their worldwide success many tribute bands have sprung up around the globe to celebrate their music with fans. Though the actual band has officially disbanded, the popularity of the group continues and the recent musical movie entitled Mama Mia, which features their songs, has once again sparked interest in the Scandinavian super group. This resurgence of interest has many fans seeking to see an ABBA tribute band. The distinct look of the band and their now dated costumes and wardrobes along with their many number one hits and catchy songs make these tributes an entertaining sing along style event for all who attend.

The most popular of the ABBA tribute bands is Bjorn Again. This is the band that started it all when it comes to reliving the ABBA experience. What started as more of a tongue and cheek parody has grown into a worldwide phenomena and this band has reached success far beyond the dream of its founder. The band began in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia, the brainchild of a man named Rod Stephen. They have performed around the globe in more than fifty countries, giving thousands of performances for more than two decades. Many fans and reviewers feel that they give the most authentic experience of all the ABBA tribute bands.

Another ABBA tribute group calls themselves ABBA Gold. They offer the viewer a totally live experience as they utilize no prerecorded tracks or music to create the show. They rely on a ten-piece band to bring fans the music and pay exquisite detail to both choreography and costume so spectators will feel as if they are watching the real thing. Billing themselves as the definitive ABBA experience, this band promotes a fun and family atmosphere at their shows. As times have changed since the decades the actual band performed, ABBA Gold has taken some liberties to intensify the choreography of the original to impress the modern concert attendee.

A third such ABBA tribute band is known as Adbacadabra who refer to their performance as the ultimate ABBA concert. Donning costumes and wigs to emulate the original, this tribute band also delivers their performance to live music with extra attention paid to matching the vocal harmonies that made the actual band so popular. As with the other ABBA tribute bands, their website offers many photos and video clips so you can see for yourself if their version of Dancing Queen is as good as the original.

Finally, the ARRIVAL delivers the ABBA experience to fans with a band ranging from one dozen to two dozen members. They hail from Sweden like the real thing and bring fans a completely live experience with real instrumentation and vocals. They began touring in 1995 and have since taken their brand of ABBA magic to over twenty different nations. They are the largest of all the tribute bands and have a visual show with many lighting and video effects to add to the experience. The ARRIVAL was able to obtain the exclusive rights to perform an ABBA track that was never released and began playing this track on their 2007 world tour.
